Much Asphalt’s products are used by national, provincial, and local government, the South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL), the Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA), the private sector, and the public.
You will find our asphalt on urban streets, freeways, bus lanes, runways, racetracks, driveways, sidewalks, dam linings, coal yards and harbour applications, among others.
Much Asphalt operates 18 asphalt plants across South Africa, Namibia and Mozambique, each supported by its own quality control laboratory, with additional Eastern Cape operations through East Coast Asphalt.

We lead the development of asphalt technologies that improve safety, durability, and lifecycle value across South Africa’s road network. We prioritise recycled asphalt and alternative aggregates to reduce reliance on non-renewable resources.
We supply a comprehensive range of asphalt solutions tailored to project requirements — from over 40 standard mixes to specialised and performance-enhanced products. Our capability spans large-scale, multi-thousand-ton contracts delivered over several years, as well as smaller-volume requirements such as over-the-counter bags of cold mix asphalt.

Our Technical Division provides specialist services supported by our SANAS-accredited Central Laboratory in Cape Town. We develop new products, control testing, calibrate plants, and offer client testing services. Our Central and Benoni laboratories conduct full bitumen and asphalt testing, including performance-grade analysis, while all plants have on-site process control laboratories.
